Garlic has a strong quite pungent flavour but imparts a very distinct hot flavour to many dishes.

Best added to food quite late in the cooking process or used as a sauce additive after cooking.
Is a great additive to seafood, buttered potatoes and pastas.
An important ingredient in pesto and is great chopped up finely into butter and drizzeled over various items of food.
Garlic is also great as an additive to flavoured olive oil.
